The application of renewable energy in buildings
Panovec, Jan ; Formánek, Marian (referee) ; Hirš, Jiří (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to understand the functioning of heating and cooling systems in an administrative building built in passive standard using a renewable energy source. The thesis includes theoretical findings of heat pumps and designing the heating systems. The experimental part contains an analysis of working of heating and cooling systems in selected rooms in assigned building, which includes an experimental measurement of selected quantities and a thermographic measurement. In the last part of the thesis a comparison of measured and simulated values using simulation software was done.
Cleaning of ventilation systems and potential energy savings
Lapáček, Milan ; Rubina, Aleš (referee) ; Máša, Vítězslav (advisor)
The main aim of this thesis is to explore fouling of air ducts and its influence on energy consumption of HVAC systems. The first part focuses on typical parts that create the IAQ in buildings and on evaluating energy consumption of air transportation. The following section deals with the theories of fluid flow, flow regimes and pressure losses that are created as a side effect. The thesis outlines possible methods of assessing the impact of pollution with an emphasis on pressure losses and their influence on the fan power consumption. The actual experimental measurement, conducted in a selected industrial plant, is focused on an influence of cleanness of textile diffuser on HVAC device power consumption. For the further research of this process, measuring equipment with suitable measurement method is designed and constructed.
Numerical Analysis of Influence of Electromagnetic Fields on Small Airplanes
Řezníček, Zdeněk ; Hazdra,, Pavel (referee) ; Karban,, Pavel (referee) ; Raida, Zbyněk (advisor)
This thesis deals with numerical analyses of electromagnetic fields on small aircraft with composite parts as an innovative way for assessment of their inherent protection against electromagnetic effects of outside environment in all development stages. It is concentrated for procedures of creation of geometrically and materially complex models for simulating calculations in the time as well as frequency domains, execution of the simulations itself and comparisons of results between the internal electromagnetic calculations and executed experimental tests. Achieved results were verified on a simplified reference model of aircraft's fuselage and two aircraft prototypes VUT100 and EV-55 of the company Evektor, spol. s r. o.
Measurements on Turbine Cascade
Vondra, Marek ; Pospíšil, Jiří (referee) ; Fiedler, Jan (advisor)
The Aim of this Diploma thesis is the measurement on turbine cascade. The first part is focused on measurement of the flow characteristics of the turbine cascade using a three–hole pressure probe. The second part includes the blade profile pressure measurement. Both measurements are performed both experimentally and by computer simulation in Ansys and the results are compared. Part of the work is also file containining the computer simulation, which was carried out in CFX program.
SIMULATION OF ENERGY PERFORMANCE AND REAL OPERATION OF BUILDINGS
Šteffek, Libor ; Ingeli,, Rastislav (referee) ; Hirš, Jiří (referee) ; Ostrý, Milan (advisor)
This dissertation thesis primarily focuses on the experimental measurement of energy consumption of a given energy-passive family house as well as theoretical research in the field of energy calculations using computer simulations. The results of quasi-stationary and dynamic simulations, with varying computational and real-time climate data, are compared with experimental measurements. Using the dynamic calculation model, which was validated by actually measured data, the relationship between architectural design and the energy performance of the building was analyzed. The influence of selected different operating modes for heat consumption on heating, cooling, ventilation, and interior overheating is observed. The result of the mutual interaction of several input parameters of variant solutions provides the basis for optimization of the whole design.
Air Distribution in residence ventilation system
Štencel, Bedřich ; Rubina,, Aleš (referee) ; Rubinová, Olga (advisor)
My thesis is divided into three separate parts. The first part is devoted to the theoretical part of the ventilation systems. The second part deals with the determination of the conditions for a number of air exchange, a comparison of three variants of the location of air outlets in dwelling units and the application image airflow from experimental measurements on the common room. The third part is focused on the description of the experimental tasks in the laboratory at the Institute building services.
Model of an up-to-date commercial laundry premise
Tůma, Zdeněk ; Kšenzuliak, Vladimír (referee) ; Pavlas, Martin (advisor)
The thesis deals with a design of an up-to-date commercial laundry with focus on equipments applied. The proces is studied and analysed throughly first. Important aspects for choice of equipments are mentioned (i.e. steam, power and natural gas consumptions. These informations are summarized from data sheets provided by manufacturers as well as from experimental measurements in existing facilities.
Outdoor environment imact on indoor room quality
Zemánek, Jan ; Horák, Petr (referee) ; Rubinová, Olga (advisor)
This thesis deals with the quality of the external and internal environment and the possibility of interaction. Resolves components, pollutants and sources of pollutants that are contained in the external and internal air and thus influence around us all. The theoretical part describes the resources, limit concentration or additional filtering of the individual substances. Are summarized in detail the possibility of air exchange and ventilation in buildings intended for public gatherings. Another part of the treatment methods solve indoor environmental quality (grade of primary school) according to the changes of air flow, ventilation options and the impact of external environment on indoor air quality. It also includes a proposal for forced ventilation of the building of the school. In the experimental part, I focused on the evaluation of the concentration of carbon dioxide in the external and internal environment and the possibilities of noise pollution. In conclusion, there are variants commented and evaluated.
The Pump with a Diffuser with Stochastic Blades (Runner and Diffuser)
Dobšáková, Lenka ; Melichar, Jan (referee) ; Veselý, Jindřich (referee) ; Haluza, Miloslav (advisor)
This doctoral thesis studies the non-uniform blade cascade for centrifugal pumps. Influence of non-uniform blade cascade is investigated on the impeller and diffuser. A non-uniform blading impeller of pumps in this doctoral thesis was examined in terms of influence on efficiency characteristic. The idea of using non-uniform blading is to obtain a flat efficiency characteristic. Then the centrifugal pump could be used on larger scale of power with achieving a sufficiently high efficiency. The work is based on experimental measurements and numerical simulations of non-uniform hydraulic pump components. Non-uniform impeller and the diffuser were newly designed for this research. A new measuring track of small submersible pumps was needed to design and build for measurements. Different pump combinations with conventional hydraulics on one working point and hydraulics with non-uniform were measured. All measurements were evaluated and characteristics of efficiency, head and power were obtained for each measured combination. Some of pump combinations (which were measured in experiment) were numerically simulated by program Ansys Fluent. Data needed to evaluate the characteristic of efficiency and specific energy were collected from each numerical simulation. A theoretical consideration concerns the influence of non-uniform blade cascade applied on diffuser. The suggestion how to decrease hydraulic losses in canals was done. The theoretical consideration how to make a flat efficiency characteristic was made.
